Black Friday Fire on Benicia's East Side Called Suspicious

No injuries were reported as a result of the early morning fire.

The Benicia Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 535 East H Street early in the morning Friday, November 23, 2012.  

According to a release the fire was reported at 3:23 a.m. by a Benicia police officer who was on routine patrol and noticed smoke coming from the building which was vacant and had been boarded up.

Units from Stations 11 and 12 responded to the call and were able to quickly get the fire under control and extinguished.

The Benicia Fire Department fire investigation unit is asking anyone who saw persons in the area during the early morning hours or has information regarding the fire please contact the Benicia Fire Department at 746-4275.
