Car Fire Slows Newspaper Delivery

A delivery driver for a local newspaper will have to find a different way of getting the papers delivered.

A car fire this morning on Mountain View Terrace created a lot of smoke and ruined the early part of the workday for a man delivering newspapers to subscribers.  Firefighters responded to a 911 call around 6 a.m.  When they arrived at the scene they found flames coming from under the hood of the vehicle.

No one was injured in the fire which firefighters were able to quickly control.

The car had a transmission failure as it was going up a hill and that probably led to the fire according to Fire Captain Todd Mathews.
