Coloring Contest Winners Ride to School in Style

Benicia Patch in cooperation with the Benicia Fire Department sponsored  the Fire Prevention Week/ Win a Ride to School on a Fire Truck Coloring Contest.  The contest was open to all Benicia K - 5 students.

Winners were chosen from each elementary school in the district.  The winners from Joe Henderson School got to ride to school on a fire truck this morning, Tuesday, October 19.

The kids came to Fire Station 12 in Southampton and, after practicing the donning of an air tank in case they had to fight a fire on the way to school, they took off for a short ride through the neighborhood before being dropped off at school.
