Muumuu Clad Man Robs Benicia Bank

Benicia Police report the man complimented his Mumu attire with a wig, combat boots and white socks.

On September 11, 2013 at approximately 11:40 a.m., Benicia Police Department received a bank robbery alarm at the West America Bank located at 20 Solano Square. Officers responded and checked the area for the suspect. During this incident, a nearby pre-school was placed on lockdown until police determined it was safe and there was no further possible threat. 

During this incident, the suspect entered the bank and approached a teller and provided a note informing her of the robbery. No weapon was seen. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was given to the suspect who fled the area on foot. The suspect was last seen running behind the Chevron Gas Station at 10 Solano Square and up the rear hill. The suspect is described as an African American Male, approximately 40 years of age, 6 ft., 200 lbs., dressed as a female wearing wig, red and white Mumu dress with white socks and black combat boots. 

This case is under investigation by the Benicia Police Department Investigations Bureau.
