Officer in I-680 Shooting has Solano County Ties

Some reports say he is a Benicia resident but Officer lives in Cordelia section of Fairfield.

A report from KTVU news says the California Highway Patrol officer shot this morning in Contra Costa County is from Benicia.

The report states the officer is married with four children and that he is a Benicia resident.  During a press conference, the Calfornia Highway Patrol released the officer's name.  He is identified as Kenyon Youngstrom.

Benicia Police Lt. Frank Hartig said in an email, “Because the CHP officer does not work for us, it would be inappropriate to comment on this. I do not have any information regarding this incident."

However, a CHP officer told the "Benicia Herald" that the officer no longer lives in Benicia.

Patch has confirmed that Youngstrom is a Fairfield resident.

A that occurred this morning near the Livorna Road exit on Interstate 680 south.
