One Arrest Leads To Another ... And Another; 3 Booked In Drug Investigation in Napa & Solano

The final search warrant served Thursday in American Canyon netted one suspect and a slew of guns and narcotics.

Three men suspected of gun and drug possession among other crimes were arrested after separate search warrants were served in Napa and Solano counties over the course of about two months, a Fairfield police lieutenant said.

On March 28, the Fairfield police SWAT team searched a search warrant related to an ongoing investigation by the narcotics investigations unit in the 3400 block of Ramsey Road at about 3 p.m., Lt. Stephen Crane said.

Authorities found 43-year-old Enrique Tapia inside allegedly in possession of a handgun, two shotguns, five rifles, cocaine hydrochloride, methamphetamine, ammunition and items related to drug sales, Crane said.

He was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail along with 32-year-old Omar Mendoza and 28-year-old Ranulfo Mendoza, both of Vallejo, for obstructing law enforcement, the lieutenant said.

An investigation following Tapia's arrest led authorities to serve a search warrant in the 500 block of Steffan Street in Vallejo on April 3.

The warrant was served for 45-year-old Alejandro Caro who was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, he said.

Caro, a convicted felon, had previous contacts with law enforcement for incidents including possession of substance for sales, driving under the influence, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, domestic violence, and burglary.

That arrest led investigators to a third man identified as 44-year-old Graciano Colin.

On Thursday -- May 15  -- Fairfield police served a search warrant in the 2500 block of Canyon Road in American Canyon around 8 a.m., Crane said.

Authorities found three handguns, a shotgun, two rifles, ammunition, methamphetamine and marijuana, he said.

At the residence Colin was arrested and booked into Napa County Jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance while armed.

Colin was previously contacted by law enforcement for carrying a concealed firearm, domestic violence, battery, driving under the influence and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
