Patch Poll: Which New Streetlight Do You Prefer?

Some residential neighborhoods will get the new LED streetlights, some will get the induction lights.

If you want to see the future of street lighting in Benicia’s residential neighborhoods check out Lori Drive.

The city is preparing to replace over 2,000 sodium lights with high-efficiency, low-cost induction lights or LED lights but the decision on which type of light to use in different neighborhoods hasn’t been made.

We want to know what our readers think of the new streetlights.

We encourage you to take a stroll on Lori Drive and compare the two types of new lights then vote in the poll at the bottom of this article. The LED type lights are between West Seventh Street and Edna Court. The induction lights will be found between Edna and Shirley Drive.

After you vote, please take a minute and tell us in comments why you prefer one type over the other.
