Police Log: Arrests and Animals Top the Blotter On Wednesday

Geese were allegedly being harassed in Alvarez Park.

 

 

Vallejo police had asked the Benicia PD to keep a look out for a man wanted on an outstanding warrant stemming from a case of suspected child endangerment.  On Wednesday Benicia Police officers spotted the man and made the arrest.  There were a few instances of dogs running free when they shouldn’t have been and there were some kids who were harassing geese.

12:59 a.m.: A 28-year-old Benicia man got a chance to ride in a police cruiser after he was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.  The man even got a free place to spend the night in Fairfield.

9:27 a.m.: A  31-year-old Benicia man was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by Solano County.

9:35 a.m.: A resident of East K Street reported her dog was missing.  Officers located and returned the wayward pooch.

10:09 a.m.: A juvenile male was arrested and then released to the custody of the Youth Services Bureau.  The YSB will work with the family in an attempt to keep the juvenile out of the formal system.

10:11 a.m.: There was a theft on Gill Way.  The person reporting the crime gave officers some leads on who may have committed the crime.

10:40 a.m.: The suspicious vehicle on Oxford had left before officers arrived.

10:47 a.m.: All the big rig trucks blocking traffic on Park Road were gone when officers arrived to investigate.

10:58 a.m.: A car on Janet was damaged by a hit and run driver.

11:31 a.m.: A white Springer Spaniel was found on La Cruz.  Officers contacted the dog’s person and helped facilitate a reunification.

11:52 a.m.: There were reports of a Boxer running loose on Rose Drive.  Officers were unable to locate the hound.

2:21 p.m.: The dog running loose on Cambridge was captured and taken to the doggie holding cell at the Corp. yard.

3:39 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate the kids who were throwing things at the geese in Alvarez Park.

3:52 p.m.: A vehicle alarm was activated on East K Street but it had stopped when officers arrived to investigate.

6:48 p.m.: A car ran into a fence on Riverview.  There were no injuries to the dirver of the vehicle.

10:06 p.m.: The people putting up their Christmas lights on Dominic were a little to loud for some of the neighbors.  The Police asked the light hangers to work quietly and they agreed to do just that.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
