1:12 a.m.: Police were unable to find a reason for an alarm activation on Jackson Street.

1:44 a.m.: Officers gave a warning to two people arguing loudly on Buena Tierra.

3:17 a.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on East Second Street.

7:40 a.m.: A resident on Southampton Road complained of ongoing harassment by an adult female and was advised by officers on the method for obtaining a restraining order.

7:55 a.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on Kearney.

8:19 a.m.: There was a complaint about a car being parked too far from the curb on Church Street.  Officers determined the car was closed enough to the curb.

9:52 a.m.: A 12-year-old girl was arrested on Southampton Road for battery with serious bodily injury.

10:23 a.m.: Police were unable to locate the driver of a suspicious vehicle parked on East Fifth Street.

10:26 a.m.: Officers talked to a citizen regarding a domestic violence situation that happened two months ago.

12:11 p.m.: An employee error led to an alarm activation at a business on Columbus Parkway.

12:58 p.m.: Animal control picked up a dog running loose on East J Street.

1:35 p.m.: Officers were unable to find a group of juveniles who were reportedly about to start a fight on Southampton road.

2:01 p.m.: Officers received a complaint about a car that appeared to be a hazard.

2:44 p.m.: A citizen on Cambridge was given advice on custody issues and conduct.

2:56 p.m.: The guy in the suspicious car parked on Dartmouth was waiting for a family member.

3:52 p.m.: A residential alarm was activated on London, but officers determined it was a malfunction.

4:53 p.m.: A suspicious person walking around in the vicinity of West ninth Street was gone when officers arrived to investigate.

5:02 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on Bayview.

5:10 p.m.: Officers were unable to talk to the people associated with the barking dog on Myrtle.  The referred the case to the Animal Control Officer.

5:51 p.m.: The solicitor working on Oxford was gone from the area when officers arrived to check his license.

6:06 p.m.: A 19-year-old Benicia woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant from San Francisco.

7:16 p.m.: Employee error was the reason given for an alarm activation on East Industrial.

9:49 p.m.: Officers received a report of a drunk driver on Columbus bet were unable to locate the car.

11:38 p.m.: A 56-year-old Vallejo man was arrested on West G Street for possession of drug paraphernalia.

1:04 a.m.: A 28-year-old Benicia woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

8:19 a.m.: A business alarm activation on West Channel was found to be a malfunction.

1:09 p.m.: Officers were unable to find a group of juveniles that who were reportedly trespassing on East H Street.

1:23 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate the suspicious woman on West Seaview.

2:26 p.m.: That suspicious guy riding around in circles on James Court was channeling his inner Rolling Stones.  He was waiting for a friend.

3:13 p.m.: An alarm that went off on Bayshore appeared to have been a malfunction.

3:40 p.m.: An employee error led to an alarm activation on East Industrial.

4:20 p.m.: Some juveniles got to talk to police officers about the meaning of harassment after they repeatedly sent texts and made calls to another juvenile.

5:32 p.m.: The suspicious person seen on Elm turned out to be an employee of a business in the area.

5:45 p.m.: Officers were unable to find a panhandler who was seen on East Fifth Street.

6:51 p.m.: A resident on Alder accidentally set off the home alarm.

9:17 p.m.: The alarm activation on Military East was found to be a malfunction.

12:56 p.m.: A 37-year-old woman was arrested on First Street for battery.  She got to spend the night in the county jail.

1:46 a.m.: The noise that was reported on West Third  had dissipated by the time officers arrived to investigate.

2:12 a.m.: Officers were able to convince the loud people on East Seaview to be quiet.

10:49 a.m.: Those graffiti artists who were marking rocks on First Street may have been exploring the transitory nature of art since they were using chalk, not spray paint.

1:53 p.m.: The two people soliciting candy sales on Rankin were gone when officers arrived to check their solicitor licenses.

3:31 p.m.: The car thought to be illegally parked on Buchanan wasn’t.

3:38 p.m.: A woman whose her car was vandalized didn’t want to press charges but did want to ensure the person responsible for the damage paid for the repairs.

3:56 p.m.: Officers went to East L Street to make sure a child exchange went smoothly.

5:44 p.m.: Officers received a report of a group of juveniles harassing an elderly person.  When they arrived on the scene they couldn’t find the kids or the elderly person.

7:27 p.m: Officers had a car towed because it was being driven by a person with a suspended license.

7:49 p.m.: A business alarm activation on park Road appeared to be a malfunction.

7:50 p.m.: Officers were able to locate the barking dog on Belvedere but not the dog’s people.  The Animal Control Officer will do a follow-up.

8:12 p.m.: Officers were able to locate the vehicle that was driving erratically in the parking lot of Southampton Center, but not the people who had been driving the car.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
