Police Log: Benicia Police Shut the Door on an Open House
They also responded to a report of counterfeit money being found.
Proving they are adept at negotiation and assistance the Benicia police were able to help one couple make a decision about their child’s medical care and then help a homeowner secure a home. The disappearing barking dog has taken the week off but alarms continue to go off for no obvious reason.
7:22 a.m.: Police intervened when a set of parents were unable to agree on the appropriate medical care for their child.
8:11 a.m.: Officers assisted a citizen who wanted to confirm an unwanted person was not at a residence on West I Street.

9:25 a.m.: Officers interrupted a residential burglary on Wingfield. A backpack was stolen.
9:29 a.m.: Some counterfeit money was found in a recycling bin at a business on Sprig.

9:58 a.m.: A residential alarm was activated on Channing but officers couldn’t find anything wrong.
12:48 p.m.: Officers buttoned up a home on West I Street where the homeowner accidentally left the door open.
1:21 p.m.: The residence on Robinson where the alarm went off appeared to be secure.
2:14 p.m.: There was a loud vibrating noise coming from a business on Jackson Street but it had stopped before officers arrived to investigate.
2:20 p.m.: A business on West Channel Road reported that a vehicle rental had not been returned. Police are investigating.
3:04 p.m.: A 20-year-old Vallejo man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of marijuana for sale. He went to the county jail.
3:08 p.m.: Police are investigating a report of someone making unauthorized charges on the account of a resident of Jefferson Street.
4:57 p.m.: The residence on Cambridge where the alarm went off appeared to be secure.
5:13 p.m.: The guy screaming in the parking lot on Southampton road was yelling at his neighbor. They were having a disagreement over parking.
7:33 p.m.: A residential alarm on East Third Street malfunctioned.
8:04 p.m.: there was a family disturbance on Southampton Road.
8:16 p.m.: The loud talkers were on Vista Grande. They agreed to talk quietly.
Editor’s Note: Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
