Police Log: Finally! Doughnuts are Part of the Police Log
There were a few reports of suspicious persons, some malfunctioning alarms and one young woman helps us all remember the folly of driving while allegedly intoxicated.
Some boys got a stern warning from police after they were caught spinning doughnuts in their car. The incident happened late Wednesday evening on East E Street. Suspicious persons were seen hanging around in various parts of town but they always left before Benicia Police Department personnel arrived on scene.
12:22 a.m.: A 23-year-old woman was arrested on McCall for allegedly driving her car while intoxicated. She was involved in a traffic accident.
12:35 a.m.: There was a lot of noise coming from a group of partiers on First Street. The group assured officers they were ready to take the party indoors.

1:01 a.m.: Officers were unable to locate anyone lighting fireworks on East T Street.
1:42 a.m.: The guy power washing the parking lot at Solano Square was disturbing the sleep of a man living nearby.

9:56 a.m.: A resident of East I Street reported a case of alleged fraud.
10:03 a.m.: A residential alarm on West Seaview malfunctioned.
12:25 p.m.: A man was reportedly sitting in a car on Southampton Road wearing latex gloves. Officers couldn’t find him.
12:56 p.m.: There was a report of juvenile smoking marijuana on West 13th Street. They were gone when officers arrived.
3:32 p.m.: There was a malfunctioning business alarm on Stone Road.
4:46 p.m.: Officers received a report of a man walking around on East N Street. Apparently he was mumbling. Officers were unable to find the man.
5:22 p.m.: A resident of West M Street reported an occupied vehicle in the area. It was gone when police arrived.
8:45 p.m.: There was a 911 call made by mistake from a home on Rankin.
9:44 p.m.: The owners of a business on West Channel closed the gate to their property.
9:52 p.m.: There was an open storage container at a business on West Channel. The business seemed secure.
10:04 p.m.: Those boys who were spinning doughnuts with their car got a warning from officers.
Editor’s Note: Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
