Police Log: Nothing Major, Just Alarming

Malfunctioning and accidentally tripped alarms kept police busy.

There were a lot of malfunctioning alarms and alarms accidentally set off by employees, but no really alarming reports of major crime Tuesday.

1:35 a.m.: Police responded to complaints of a loud party on Kerry Court.  When they arrived the party broke up.

7:58 a.m.: Police arrived at Lansing Circle to find that a host of vehicles had been egged.

8:09 a.m.: Thieves broke into a vending machine at a business on Indiana in the Industrial Park.

1:45 p.m.: A new employee at an East Second Street business learned that pushing “that” button would produce the police. The employee pushed the button by accident.

2:20 p.m.: Police were notified that someone was crawling through the window of a West J Street home. They spoke to the homeowner and determined no crime had occurred.

6:11 p.m.: Two juveniles were charged with possession of alcohol in the vicinity of the West Ninth Street Park.

The rest of the evening was taken up with malfunctioning alarms.
