Police Log: People Warned for Putting Others In Car Trunks

Two more people arrested for DUIs, police called to settle customer service dispute.

Vandalism, DUIs and foolishess highlight the Dec. 23 police report.

12:23 a.m. Police were called to reports of a shouting match on East O Street. Police didn’t see anyone when they got there.

12:53 a.m. Police arrested 31-year-old Jerad Hope on suspicion of DUI on West K Street. He was cited and released from police custody.

1:40 a.m. There was a report of an open garage door on Chelsea Hills Drive. The home owners were contacted and everything was ok.

1:51 a,m. Police received a call about a suspicious vehicle flashing their high beams on Buchanan Drive. It turned out to be a person visiting their friend who lives in the area.

8:17 a.m. A suspicious person was seen on East Second Street. Police contacted them and found them to be training for an upcoming event.

8:37 a.m.  Police were called to a family disturbance on Rankin Way. Police documented the incident.

2:00 p.m. Police took a report on a traffic accident on Military West.

2:27 p.m. There was a conflict between employees and customers at a business on Southampton Drive. Police responded and each side worked out the problem.

3:02 p.m. A bunch of kids were warned about leaving trash in an area they frequent on East Second Street.

3:06 p.m. Police were called out to kids bothering customers at a business on Military West. The kids were given a warning.

3:59 p.m. Police took a report on identity theft on East Second Street.

4:50 p.m. An alarm was accidently activated on Eaton Court.

5:03 p.m. Police documented the vandalism done to the downtown Benicia Christmas tree.

6:41 p.m. An alarm accidently went off on Oregon Street.

8:14 p.m. An alarm at a business on Southampton Drive accidently went off.

8:29 p.m. Police arrested 26-year-old Matthew Fogg of Walnut Creek on suspicion of DUI on Drolette Way. He was cited and released.

9:48 p.m. Another alarm accidentally went off at a residence on Samuel Court.  

10:08 p.m. Dispatch received a call that a subject was put into a car trunk on East Second Street. Police talked to the individuals. Turns out they were just horsing around and given a warning for their behavior along with not wearing their seatbelt.

11:41 p.m. A man was disturbing his neighbors and being noisy on Cambridge Drive. Police gave the man a warning.  

11:42 p.m. A man was given a warning for being in a verbal altercation on Incline Place.
