Police Log: Slumbering Woman in Park, Attempted Beer Theft, Parents Arguing

A woman sleeping in an eastside park started the work-week for Benicia police.

Police were asked to mediate when two parents got into an argument at a local elementary school.  They also began an investigation into an alleged case of harassment. 

7:12 a.m.: The woman sleeping in the park on East Sixth Street was asked to get up and get going.

8:16 a.m.: Animal control apprehended a loose dog in East J Street.

11:44 a.m.: There was a non-injury traffic accident on Military East.

1:56 p.m.: A suspicious man was seen outside a residence on East Tennys.   He was gone when officers arrived.

2:52 p.m.: Officers had to intervene when two parents started arguing at their child’s school on Hastings.

3:55 p.m.: Police gave a citizen advice regarding a juvenile disturbance on Southampton Road.

6:05 p.m.: There were reports of a semi truck and trailer backing onto East Second Street and causing a hazard.  The truck was gone when officers arrived.

6:24 p.m.: A resident on Baker was reported receiving text messages from someone who had been given a court order forbidding the sending of messages.

6:48 p.m.: A business on First Street reported a customer keeps coming into the store to use the restroom and tries to steal beer.

7:01 p.m.: It appeared to a resident on Military East that someone was trying to break into their home.

10:54 p.m.: A car was broken into on Egret.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
