Police Log: Wednesday, October 12, 2011

The phantom barking dog disappeared on West K Street.

There were some arrests on Wednesday and some barking dogs.  One of the persons arrested tried a but was caught.

12:16 a.m.: The car theft on First Street turned out to be an instance of a 16-year-old kid “borrowing” mom’s car.  Officers warned the juvenile about taking mom’s car without permission.

7:14 p.m.: A resident of East B Street was given a warning on about a violation of a civil order.

9:12 p.m.: A dog was barking on Cambridge.  It was still barking when officers arrived but the homeowner wasn’t there.  Animal control will do follow-up with the dog owner.

9:49 p.m.:  The barking dog on West K Street got quiet before officers arrived.

10:05 p.m.: Officers responded to a call of an unfamiliar vehicle on East Sixth Street.  While the vehicle was unfamiliar to the resident police were unable to find anything suspicious.

11:53 p.m.: Police arrested a 46-year-old Benicia man and a 32-year-old Oroville man.  Both men were suspected of parole violations.  The Benicia man was also suspected of having drug paraphernalia.  The Oroville man is suspected of presenting false identification.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
