Police Log: What’s With All the Dogs Running Loose?

There were dogs running loose in Southampton and downtown.

 

A car was reported stolen and a squirrel was either trying to stay warm in a chimney or maybe it was reconnoitering the area for future visits.

7:04 a.m.: There was a residential alarm malfunction on York.

7:06 a.m.: A resident on Clos Duvall reported hearing someone trying to enter her home.  Officers arrived and found the doors were still secure and no one in the house who didn’t belong there.

8:01 a.m.: A business alarm on West Chanel Road malfunctioned.

8:39 a.m.: Someone stole a wedding ring from a resident on Drolette.

9:02 a.m.: Officers began an investigation into a possible case of fraud at a business on Sprig.

11:00 a.m.: There were reports of dogs being off leash on Rose Drive but officers couldn’t find them.

11:48 .m.: A squirrel was in a chimney on Primrose.  The little guy got out before officers arrived.  It was unclear if the squirrel was on a scouting chimneys for a fat guy in a red suit.

1:01 p.m.: A car was reported stolen on Ellie Court.

1:09 p.m.: Officers were unable to find the small dog reported running down the middle of East Second Street.

2:52 p.m.: A juvenile was cited for an alleged violation of the education code.

3:07 p.m.: Officers couldn’t locate the suspicious vehicle reported on Stephen.

3:37 p.m.: Officers helped a resident on East N Street with a civil matter.

5:38 p.m.: A resident on Carsten accidentally left the front door open.  The police closed the door.

5:45 p.m.: A business alarm on East Second Street was activated but the business appeared secure.

6:54 p.m.: Officers were unable to find the people who were reportedly having a heated discussion on East O Street.

9:01 p.m.: Police began in investigation into an apparent burglary on East J Street.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
