Small Fire Quickly Extinguished

Benicia Fire Department responds to Brush Fire

A miscellaneous fire was reported around 11:38 p.m. on Monday by a resident on the 900 block of Jefferson Street. The resident reported that the flames were approximately 40 feet from her house. 

Benicia Police soon arrived on the scene to find a tree in the median on fire. Engine 11 was quickly dispatched and put out the flames.  About 100 feet of of brush was blackened by the fire.

Cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
