Suisun City police have identified a woman killed in a stabbing Tuesday evening and a man who is the suspected perpetrator.

Police responded to a report of a woman bleeding and asking for help at 1395 Worley Road at 9:30 p.m., Sgt. Dan Healy said.

Officers found 30-year-old Lorena Martinez of Fairfield suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said.

She was taken to NorthBay Medical Center and was able to give a statement about the incident and identified Victor Mejia as her attacker, police said.

She later died at the hospital.

Police believe that after stabbing her in an apartment, Mejia took her car and abandoned it on the Benicia-Martinez Bridge. Mejia remains at large.

Anyone with information about the case has been asked to contact Cmdr. Tim Mattos at (707) 421-7373.
