Cash Flowing Into Campaign War Chests of Solano County Supervisor District 2 Candidates

Messina raised more money this time but Seifert still has a big edge in cash on hand.

According to the latest campaign finance reports incumbent raised $7,375 while the man challenging her for the District 2 seat, school board trustee raised over $10,000.

However, with 10 weeks of campaigning to go, Seifert’s campaign, with almost $39,000 in the bank, has nearly five times as much cash on hand than Messina who has $8,000.

The Vallejo Time-Herald reports that the latest finance report covers the period from January 1, 2012 to March 17, 2012.

Seifert raised $3,300 in contributions under $100 while Messina’s haul in that category was $2,900.

Messina’s largest expenditures, totaling about $10,000 paid for a mail piece he sent out in January in order to introduce himself to areas of District 2 where he is less well known.  Seifert’s has yet to start sending mail but she is actively campaigning with supporters hosting coffees and meet and greet event in downtown Benicia.
