City Council/School Board Liaison Committee Meeting to Discuss Cuts

The committee made up of two City Council persons and two SchoolBoard Trustees will hear about proposed cuts to BUSD field maintenance performed by the city.

The Benicia City Council/School Board Liaison Committee will meet 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Benicia Unified School District Board Room, 350 East K St.  The committee will hear a report from Interim City Manager Jim Erickson on city budget reduction recommendations and how they might affect the School District. 

A report to the Parks, Recreation and Cemetery Commission showed the City intends to eliminate maintenance of two school site fields for a savings of $39,500 this fiscal year and $153,000 next fiscal year.

The committee will also hear a report from Benicia Unified School District Superintendant Janice Adams regarding the Valero Good Neighbor Steering Committee Settlement Agreement.
