City Officials to Meet with State Parks Staff Today

The move is the first step in determining if Benicia can pay for continuing operations.

Examiner.com reported  that Benicia city officials will meet Tuesday with representatives of the California parks department to begin discussions on the feasibility of the city taking responsibility for operations and maintenance at the two state-owned parks in Benicia.

Mario Giuliani, acting economic development director, said the purpose of the meeting is to allow the city to better understand the costs associated with the operation and maintenance of the and the and to schedule site visits to both facilities.

Earlier this year the state parks department slated the as a cost-cutting measure.
