City to test Community Alert and Notification Sirens

Citizens advised not to call 9-1-1 when they hear the sirens.

Benicia Fire Department announced that on Friday, July 13, the City of Benicia will initiate maintenance and repair to the Community Alert and Notification (CAN) system. The process will require multiple activations of the CAN sirens.

Benicia residents are advised that 9-1-1 calls should not be made to report the siren activation or to inquire about the test. Citizens can stay updated on the CAN system maintenance by tuning in to Comcast channel 27 or AT&T U-verse channel 99.
