For veterans of Benicia Parks and Community Services kids summer day camps Monday might prove a little unsettling because the camps will be moving to their new home at the recently opened Benicia Community Center located at 370 East L Street.
Past camps have been run at the youth center in the 100 block of East K Street adjacent to the .
Ann Dunleavy, a Parks and Community Services Superintendent said everything from the old building will be moved this weekend except the Tiny Tots preschool program. "Tiny Tots will move here (the new community center) for the fall."
Dunleavy said about 100 kids are expected for the school aged day camp beginning Monday morning, July 18 , as well as 30 middle school aged kids for the K2 adventures Day Camp.
The Parks and Community Services staff plans to make temporary signs guiding parents to the new community center.
"We're encouraging everyone to use the parking lot," said Dunleavy. "The main entrance for the new community center is off the parking lot and not on East L Street."
