Community Sustainability Commission-Special Priority Setting Workshop

In November 2010, the Community Sustainability Commission (CSC) recommended a list of Climate Action Plan (CAP) strategies for implementation.  With limited staff resources, these strategies were largely based on minimal staff effort.  With the hiring of a Consulting Climate Action Plan Coordinator (Sonoma State University, with Alex Porteshawver onsite), the Commission will recommend new priorities to the City Council.  Alex Porteshawver and the Sonoma State team have analyzed all of the CAP strategies, compiled information on the status of these strategies, and are recommending new strategies, based on numerous factors. Upon approval by the CSC, staff will present to the City Council in May a report on the progress made to date on CAP strategies, project priorities for the CSC moving forward, and the status of Valero/Good Neighbor Steering Committee Settlement Agreement funding.
