The Benicia Valero Refinery will experience flaring during the day on Wednesday.
According to the City of Benicia website, the Valero Benicia Refinery expects to experience some flaring this morning, Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, as the refinery begins some planned, short-term maintenance on equipment.
Sporadic flaring may also occur throughout the day.
Refinery flares are designed and operated per federal, state and local standards. Flares safely – and efficiently -- burn gases, protecting employees, the community, and the environment.
