Help Define the Issues for the Mayoral Candidates

Benicia Patch wants readers to submit questions to the candidates for Benicia Mayor.

On Nov. 8, voters will  select a mayor for Benicia. Voters may choose to return incumbent or they may go with her only challenger .

If Schwartzman wins, the person who takes third place in the City Council election will take his seat on the council and will have to run again in two years.

Regardless of who wins in November, the new Mayor and City Council will have a number of big issues to deal with in the next few years.  Both mayoral candidates are talking about economic development and are focusing on the Benicia Industrial Park.

We at Benicia Patch want to know what you, the voters, think are the important questions Patterson and Schwartzman should be answering.

One reader has already asked about appointments to boards and commissions.  The mayor is responsible for choosing who will serve on the city’s advisory boards and commissions.  What will be your method for choosing those appointees?   Will appointees need expertise or simply a willingness to serve the community?
