Ioakimedes Talks About His City Council Time

The former councilman says his time as a member of boards and commissions was good training but nothing really prepares you for the speed of change.

is back to being a full time restaurateur and an active follower of city politics.  At this time four years ago Ioakimedes had just been sworn in as Benicia’s newest city council person.  He had a successful restaurant in the Tannery Building and was about to take on a new full-time job in addition to the one he already had.

In an interview in the Ioakimedes talks about the speed of change and the amount of work a city council member has to do to prepare for the decision-making that is part of the job.

Some of that change prompted Ioakimedes to decide . Now he has a in Southampton Center but the change hasn't been easy.  He also has family obligations and continues to deal with the challenges of running a small business in difficult economic times.
