Regional Transit Card Won't be Available for Benicia Travel Until 2013

SolTrans buses aren't ready to accept Clipper cards.

Benicia residents who commute but want to leave the driving to someone else will still have to carry bus fare in their pockets if they plan to use Solano County based public transportation systems for part of the commute.  While many Bay Area residents are now using the Clipper card, it won’t be available for use buses serving Benicia until 2013.

Examiner.com reports that the stored-value Clipper cards good on BART, AC Transit and San Francisco Muni won’t be available for use here until next year.  The Clipper card allows riders to use one card to pay transit fares for multiple transit agencies operating in the Bay Area.
