Seifert Mailer Targets Dems in District 2, Claims Messina Voted Against Open Government Ordinance

The mail piece from the political campaign of Supervisor Linda Seifert points out a vote against the Benicia Open government Ordinance.

A mailer sent to voters in the Solano County Supervisorial District 2 hi-lights a vote school board member and county supervisor candidate made in 2005.

At the time Messina was Benicia Mayor and he voted against the Benicia Open Government Ordinance.  The mailer tags Messina as a conservative and says he is supported by incumbent conservative county supervisors.

The mailer indentifies as a Democrat but doesn’t mark her as either conservative or liberal.

The mailer drew the ire of at least one recipient who took the time to pen a letter to the editor protesting the way the information in the mailer was presented.

Do you think the information in this mail piece is fairly presented?  What would make the mailer more fair?
