Effort to Show Support for Jensen Takes New Form

Supporters now have an on-line method to tell school board how they feel.

Benicians now have another tool at their disposal to show their support for the embattled principal at Benicia High School, Gary Jensen.  A recently launched Facebook page allows people to sign a petition that will presented to the school board at their regularly scheduled meeting this Thursday, March 1 at he district offices.

The petition drive is another avenue for those in the community supporting Jensen.  There is also another Facebook page with over 200 members that supports keeping Jensen.

During public comments at school board meeting on February 16 a common theme among those who spoke in favor of keeping Jensen was the need for some continuity at Benicia High School, which has had seven principals in the past 11 years.

The validity of the February 16 vote is also being called into question with some in the community saying the action was in clear violation of the Brown Act.
