Dr. Catherine Millard will sign copies of her book "The Dismantling of America's History".
The subjects of Dr. Millard's book are treasured historic California sites. Not all of these sites are State Parks. Among the historic sites are the Benicia Capitol State Historic Park as well as three well known Sacramento sites; the Leland Stanford Mansion, the Bidwell Mansion and the Governors Mansion.
This book event will be followed at 7:45 pm in the multi-purpose room, with the screening of the film "The First 70" presented by the California State Parks Foundation, the City of Benicia and the Benicia State Parks Association/Protect Benicia State Parks. The film focuses on the first seventy California State Parks marked for closure on July 1, 2012. The only two Solano County State Parks, the Benicia Capitol State Historic Park and the
Benicia State Recreation Area are featured in this film.
