Benicia High School band to honor and support one of their own. 2009 Benicia High graduate Cara Hansen participated in both the middle school and high school band programs and was a member of the color guard as well.
Hansen was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in February and has been undergoing treatments ever since.
Her classmates from 2009 have organized a fundraiser for their teammate. The event will take place tonight at the Haley Horn Auditorium at Benicia High School and proceeds will go to helping offset Hansen’s medical bills.
According to the Benicia Herald, a pair of Hansen’s high school classmates Michael Nasr and Annabelle Prasad helped organize the event which starts at 6 p.m.
Hansen is currently the color guard coach at Benicia Middle School.
