Panther Band Offers An Instrument 'Petting Zoo'

Free "TryTunes" event allows members of the community to try their hand at a musical instrument.

There are quality music programs in Benicia, with many being found in the Benicia Unified School District.  The elementary, middle and high schools have valuable band programs which provide leadership, teamwork, pride and fun.  These programs tend to be a wonderful match for many children during their school years.  It goes without saying that the playing of a musical instrument is a great skill available to all ages as well.

For those who would like their children (or themselves!) to experience a variety of musical instruments in a close and personal environment, the Panther Band is offering a free event Saturday, May 19th in the Benicia High School Performing Arts Building at 1101 Military West in Benicia.

From 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., you can play a brass, wind, string or percussion instrument.  At 2:30 p.m., there will be a free concert from the Panther Band.
