University of California officials Saturday said they have reached a tentative agreement with the California Nurses Association for a four-year labor contract.

The agreement, which affects more than 11,700 nurses working at UC medical and student health facilities, includes a 4 percent across the board salary increase each year and additional step increases, UC officials said.

It also includes a no-strike provision prohibiting nurses from striking during the life of the contract.

The contract is still subject to approval by CNA members. Negotiations began on March 26.
