The Benicia Yacht Club celebrates its nautical heritage and the beginning of the boating season with Opening Day on the Strait. Slated for April 21, this event provides plenty of fun entertainment along Benicia's beautiful waterfront. There will be a variety of arts and crafts booths and boardwalk games. Hungry visitors can enjoy a reasonably priced catered lunch and barbecue dinner. The boat parade will start at approximately 2 p.m. near West Ninth Street and will head east down the Carquinez Strait toward the Benicia Marina entrance. Visitors can view the parade from many spots along the waterfront, including the marina.
