Join raptor expert Larry Broderick and birder Earl Swenerton at Solano Land Trust's Jepson Prairie Preserve for their third annual Eagles, Hawks & other Birds of Prey Tour. At this time of year participants can see red-tailed hawks, harriers, and kestrels, and will be on the lookout for migratory golden eagles, ferruginous hawks, merlins, and burrowing owls. This will be an easy, meandering walk in a portion of Jepson Prairie Preserve only accessible with a Solano Land Trust guide. Bring water, a snack or bag lunch, binoculars, and waterproof boots. Come prepared for variable weather (bring layered clothes and protection from sun, wind, fog, and rain). A donation is suggested but not required. Heavy or constant rain cancels -- call Broderick's cell phone at 707-975-7047 if the weather is uncertain.
Broderick has 25 years experience studying, researching, rescuing and rehabilitating raptors. He loves to share his knowledge and field time with both novice and experienced birders.
