THE WOOFSTOCK CLUSTER OF DOG SHOWS

From June 6th
through June 10th 2012, the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo is
the place to be for dog lovers, hippies and anyone looking for a fun time.  The Lake County Kennel Club of Northern
California and the Contra Costa County Kennel Club work all year to prepare for
4 days of shows.  Not just any dog shows,
but one that has been nominated 2 years in a row for the best dog show in the
country.  The name says it all - The
Woofstock Cluster.

During the shows,
one can hear the sounds that exemplify the days of Woodstock as dog handlers
(and most dog show judges) enter the rings in their finest bell bottoms and tie
dye.  In addition to the normal dog show
activities, this cluster provides additional fun.  There is a costume contest for adults, children
and dogs.  Before the Groups begin on
Friday, a “Dirty Trick’ contest is held.
The event most anticipated is the Barbeque held on the lawn in front of
a live band playing 60’s music which takes place after Best in Show judging on
Saturday.  Add  to this the many vendors selling all things
dog-related.  What more can a dog lover want?
