Long Beach Team to Jump off a 30' Ramp this Saturday

Even if just one team was to plan to jump off a 30' ramp, it's memorable. En masse? Spectacular!

What would make you dress up in costume, build a plane and push or be pushed off of a 30' ramp?  For this team, Red Bull is providing the nurturing environment that makes this spectacle possible.  Enabling the leap.

The entire team won't be jumping.  In fact, hopefully only pilot George Schano, bar manager at Legends Sports Bar, will be hitting the drink in Long Beach this Saturday.  He has willingly signed up to be pushed - shoved - over the edge of the 30' high ramp, in costume, and driving - flying - gliding -falling - in a wacky contraption.

It's a tribute of the team's making to the Legendary Flying Machine, the Spruce Goose.  For those of you who are nostalgic about the Spruce Goose, the wooden aircraft built under wartime design constraints and only ever flown once, the vision of Henry Kaiser and design of Howard Hughes, come on down to the National Red Bull Flugtag in Long Beach.  It's free to enter!

Team members George Schano (Manager of Legends sports bar), David Copeley (Team Captain), Eric Johnson (Visionary and co-Team Captain), Erik Bakker (Chief Engineer), Steve Gugerty (Gugerty Illustration and Design)

The team will be dressed as a pilot, a spruce and three geese.  If we're lucky, they may even dance for our cameras.
