Tis’ the Season to Give to Local Benicia Charities

Add these Benicia organizations and programs to your gift list.

Benicia's charitable organizations can use your assistance this holiday season. Donate or provide a gift in someone’s name.

Toys for Tots: Drop off new, unwrapped toys at Benicia Fire Department Station 11, 150 Military W., or Station 12, 601 Hastings Drive, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Supporting Event: Join BFD staff for , refreshments. Toy donations are encouraged. Location: Fire Station 11, Dec. 16, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Benefits Benicia CAC, Solano Aids Coalition, Solano Battered Women’s Shelter. Benicia Education Foundation:  Thank a Teacher Campaign honors teacher and staff during the holidays. Honorees receive a card and are added to 'Education Wall of Honor.’ Participate online at http://www.beniciaeducationfoundation.org/ways-to-give/thank-a-staff-member. 

Adult Literacy and ESL Program, Benicia Public Library: Budget cuts have impacted this program that reaches the underserved. Make direct donations or donate raffle items for the upcoming Trivia Bee fundraiser on Saturday, Feb 25. Mail to Adult Literacy and ESL Program, Benicia Public Library, 150 E. L, Benicia, CA. Benicia Community Action Council: Drop off new, unwrapped toys, new, wrapping paper. Frozen chickens, hams, and 10-15 lb. turkeys are also needed for Christmas Dinner Bags. Office at 480 Military East is open for donations Mondays, 8:30 to1 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Fridays, 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. Contact Carla Jewell or Viola Robertson at (707) 745-0900.

 Adobe House: Mail direct donations to Adobe House, 1384 W. K, Benicia, 94510. Residents of this alcohol and drug treatment program work on projects benefiting the community. Adobe also refers donations to Benicia Community Action Council. Contact: Pat Purvis at (707) 745 4565

Benicia Historical Museum: Donate online at Benicia Historical Museum by using the checkout/donate button at  http://www.beniciahistoricalmuseum.org/checkout.htm.

Solano County Friends of Animals: Help furry friends find homes by donating online at Solano County Friends of Animals or mailing donations to the SCFOA, PO Box 235, Benicia, CA, 94510.

Benicia State Parks Association: Work with the BSPA to keep our state parks open. Mail donations to BPSA, 250 West K St., Benicia, CA, 94510. Contact: Carol Berman at (707) 745-5477.

Benicia Public Library: To benefit to Benicia Library Foundation and have a gift card sent in your name, mail donations to the library at 150 E. L, or stop in. To raise funds for community space basement renovations, bricks are available for inscription and placement at the Eunice D. Jensen Rose Garden at Bricks for the Library.
