It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

It cleared up nicely for the eclipse, as viewed from the upper deck of Berkeley Yacht Club. TheRead More theme of this year's eclipse class was 15th Century Chinese Survey Techniques. By observing the same eclipse at widely separated locations, and then measuring the time difference to meridian transit of a known star or planet (using a water clock), ancient map-makers could establish longitude with surprising accuracy. Last night us amateurs came within 23 seconds of getting the time of the start of totality correct (after averaging all the guesses), which is only a 4.5 mile error in longitude. We'll do this again in October.

Bertie Mae died at 34 years old at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.
Janet Locke April 11, 2014 at 05:29 pm
I am really sad for Bertie Mae. She was taken from her family in the wild in India and brought hereRead More to do tricks for Bentley Brothers Circus. She came to Six Flags in 2005. She did not die last week unless she died late on Saturday afternoon or Saturday evening because I saw her myself on Saturday afternoon. She was all geared up to give elephant rides. I hate Six Flags. Since they took control of the park in 1997, 2 orcas, 7 elephants, and 7 dolphins have died from CAPTIVITY-RELATED causes. In 2007 a giraffe died when the barn he was locked in caught fire. Marine World was no better. What is deceiving about the park is that some of the animals are in exhibits that compare favorably with zoos. What people don't realize is that many or even most of the animals (including some tigers) are stuffed away in cages out of public view. If Six Flags were not ashamed of the way those poor animals were kept, they would let the patrons see them in their cages.

It should be closed ASAP. Wild animals and roller coasters do not belong in the same park. It is aRead More horrible place.
Janet Locke April 11, 2014 at 09:28 pm
Chris, they absolutely should get all of those animals into sanctuaries.
