Dave Badtke, Neighbor

I've been married 35 years to my wife, who's a family law commissioner in Martinez. Our older son Lucas, who is 39 and married to his Editor-in-Chief, Kaori, has owned his own media business in Tokyo, Japan since he arrived there after graduating from UC Santa Cruz. Our younger son Joseph, who is 30 and married to Mina, worked for Luke in Japan after graduating from Haverford College. He is now a third-year law student at Columbia University where Mina, who previously graduated from Bonn University in Germany, is earning her masters in the School of International and Public Affairs, SIPA.

I currently teach three English courses at Solano College. My English 370 course focuses on sentence, paragraph and essay patterns. My English 1  students investigate the impact family, society and ethics have on identity development. And my English 2 students critically analyze short stories, drama and poetry. In the past I have also taught astronomy at the College of Alameda, but switching between teaching science and English made my head hurt.
