A Friends of Animals Success Story

A happy ending for a rescued animal is the outcome the group always strives to achieve.

The call that came to the Solano County Friends of Animals hotline had a familiar theme -- a kitten was found, caught by her leg, hanging from a fence.  The caller didn't know how long the kitten was there.  The people who found her were able to free her but couldn't afford to take her to the vet.

Solano County Friends of Animals came to the rescue.  The group saved her life, saved her leg, then provided a loving, safe foster home where she was able to recover.

After 4 weeks in a cast, Sassy was healed, happy and ready for a new family.  "This is the best part," foster mom Margaret says with a smile.  "There are two devoted benefactors who visit our adoptions every month.  They always bring a generous donation check but have never adopted."

Things were different when they met Sassy.  "It was love at first sight," said Margaret.  "Not only did they adopt her but they also paid her vet bill in full. Wow!  We couldn't do what we do without angels like Loretta and Penny."

Sassy's new family renamed her "Baby," has bought her every toy on the planet and says she "shoots across the room like a rocket!  You'd never know she was in danger of losing her leg."  Now that's the happy ending we all hope for!
