Sled Dogs in Benicia?

Sled dogs are the honored pets this weekend at Pet Food Express.

Weekend adoptions at will have a decidedly arctic-like flavor this Sunday May 22, when Northern California Sled Dog Rescue, NorSled for short, brings a slew of northern breed working dogs to Benicia in hopes of finding homes for some of them.

NorSled is a group of people dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and finding new homes for unwanted, abused and abandoned Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Samoyeds, and Northern-breed mixes in Northern California.

Since they were formed in  1998 they have found new homes for over 1,000 dogs.  These dedicated volunteers work closely with other northern breed rescue groups providing training, foster homes and rehabilitation for the dogs.  They take the dogs to adoption clinics each weekend in different locations in Northern California.
