Car Show Raises Record Amount For High School Band

Panther Band wishes to thank sponsors and local businesses for the success of car-show fundraiser.

The committee members of the 18th Annual Benicia Classic Car show have tallied the numbers for their recent event. They were pleased to find they had a record year, raising $19,600 for the Benicia High School Panther band.  The car show was held May 1.

There were 410 classic vehicles entered (a record amount), and it was well attended.

The Main Stage sponsors were Regal Collision Repair, Specialty Sales-Classics, Valero and Albany Ford-Subaru.  All were instrumental in supporting this event and the committee would like to publicly thank them. The band is also grateful for the numerous local businesses for cash and product donations, and posting fliers in their windows.

The band also thanks all members of the community who stopped by to enjoy a sunny day at the waterfront.

All of these funds support the award-winning music program at the high school that teaches young adults about more than playing an instrument. With the exception of the instructor’s salary, the program is funded by families and donations.
