Pedrotti ACE Hardware Raises $33,000 for Hurricane Sandy Relief

The Benicia store exceeded its fundraising goal for the American Red Cross.

A Benicia hardware store has raised more than $30,000 for Hurricane Sandy relief through customer donations to the American Red Cross.

In all, Pedrotti Ace Hardware raised $33,214, store owner Gene Pedrotti said in an email.

“Observing the events following a natural disaster is not only humbling, it begs for help in a variety of ways,” Pedrotti said in a previous interview. “Financial support is the number one requested type of support by the American Red Cross.”

Last year  for the Red Cross relief effort in Japan after the devastating earthquake and a tsunami hit in March 2011.
