Benicia Police Log: A Residential Burglary and an Arrest for Vandalism

7:53 a.m.: Someone rummaged through a car parked on Bayshore Road.

11:52 a.m.: A solicitor working in Solano Square was told he had to leave if a business requested it.

1:42 p.m.: A burglar alarm at a business on Goodyear Road malfunctioned.

3:13 p.m.: There was a report of a suspicious person in the parking lot of a business located on East Second Street.  The person was gone when officers arrived.

3:38 p.m.: The people in the suspicious vehicle spotted in the vicinity of Hawthorne agreed to leaved the area after speaking to officers.

4:58 p.m.: Police began an investigation into a residential burglary on McAllister.

7:51 p.m.: A 21-year-old Benicia man was arrested for vandalism and resisting arrest.

8:16 p.m.: The kids who jumping on a dumpster and throwing rocks on Military East were gone when officers arrived.

8:59 p.m.: Officers talked to a 19-year-old man who was having an argument with one of his parents.

9:31 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a suspicious vehicle on Steven.

9:43 p.m.: A resident on Riverhill reported receiving threatening messages from an ex. 

10:14 p.m.: A Solano Square business asked officers to talk to a man who’d been barred from the business for shoplifting.  The man left the area before officers arrived.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
