Benicia Police Log: Burglar Alarms in Town and a Wayward Cow on Lake Herman Road

4:05 a.m.: A resident on Lori Drive reported people in her side yard going through tools and wood.  Responding officers were unable to locate anything suspicious.

9:23 a.m.: Police received a report of a cow on Lake Herman Road.  The cow apparently made it back to the pasture before officers arrived.

11:38 a.m.: Officers were asked to document a neighbor dispute on Military East.

11:51 a.m.: Officers spoke to a group on Sunset who were reportedly lighting off fireworks.  The group denied doing anything wrong.

2:41 p.m.: Officers were asked to document a non-injury traffic collision that occurred on Southampton Road.

4:26 p.m.: A burglar alarm activation at an East Industrial Way business was found to be a subscriber error.

4:36 p.m.: Police received a 911 call from a payphone but found nothing amiss when they went to investigate.

5:32 p.m.: Police were contacted by a resident on Lori Drive regarding a violation of a court order.

7:26 a.m.: Police were unable to determine why a burglar alarm at an East Industrial Way business malfunctioned.

11:24 p.m.: Police went to a home on West Ninth Street where a burglar alarm was activated.  They found nothing amiss.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
