Benicia Police Log: Lots of Brass Water Valves Stolen in the Benicia Industrial Park

5:09 a.m.: Police received a report of tow people going through the trash on Rose Drive.  They were gone before police arrived.

5:19 a.m.: A business on East Industrial reported the theft of metal.

6:51 a.m.: A pet owner on Buena Tierra reported that his dog was charged by a pit bull that was running loose. The owner of the Pit Bull learned of a hole in the fence that needed repair.

7:23 a.m.: A business on East Channel road reported the theft of a brass water flow valve

7:33 a.m.: Another East Channel Road business reported the theft of a brass water flow valve.

7:34 a.m.: A business on East Channel Road reported somebody had attempted to steal a brass water flow valve from their business.

7:45 a.m.: Officers were asked to standby while a court ordered child exchange took place.

7:50 a.m.: Two businesses on Egret reported the theft of brass water flow control valves from their buildings.

8:08 a.m.: Officers left a note for the person who parked their boat on Piercy.  The note informed the owner that the boat needed to be moved.

8:28 a.m.: Officers received a report of a vehicle parked in a red zone on London.  The vehicle was gone when they arrived.

9:30 a.m.: A business on Park Road reported the theft of a brass water control valve.

10:17 a.m.: Police checked on a residence where a man and woman were having a loud argument.   The man left before the officers arrived and the woman confirmed that the argument was verbal only.

11:09 a.m.: Police investigated a 911 call from a residence on Greenbrier.  There was nothing amiss when they arrived.

11:20 a.m.: Some tools wee stolen from a residence on Columbia.

11:53 a.m.: A resident on rose Drive wanted advice from an officer regarding a possible violation of a court order.

12:20 p.m.: Officers were asked to investigate whether a motor home was legally parked at a residence on Regis. They found that it was legally parked.

1:46 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a case of identity theft.  The victim lives on Kerry.

2:33 p.m.: A business on Military East reported a case of attempted fraud.

7:10 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on West I Street.

8:01 p.m.: Police received a report of a motorcyclist and passenger riding without a helmet.  Officers talked to the helmetless folks.

8:16 p.m.: A 27-year-old Benicia man was arrested on an outstanding Marin Coutny warrant.

8:42 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into the theft of a UPS package from a home on London.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
