Benicia Police Log: Metal Thefts in the Industrial Park and Traffic Control on East Second

6:18 a.m.: Police opened an investigation into the theft of some metal from a Goodyear Road business.

7:43 a.m.: Police are looking into the theft of metal from an East Second Street location.

8:52 a.m.: Officers received a report that a big rig was causing a hazard on East Second Street.  The big rig was gone when officers arrived to investigate.

9:15 a.m.: There was a traffic collision with a minor injury on Interstate 780.

9:22 a.m.: Officers on routine patrol on Military West noted a juvenile who appeared to try and hide when he saw the police.  He did a good job because police were unable to find him.

9:23 a.m.: Police were unable to find the German Shepherd that was reported as being loose on Oxford.

10:50 a.m.: Police opened an investigation into the theft of metal from a business on East Industrial.

10:56 a.m.: Officers searched the area around Bradford for a car driving recklessly.           

11:46 a.m.: A burglar alarm at a home on Larkin was accidentally activated.

12:41 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into a case of fraud on Fransisca.

12:46 p.m.: Police were requested to look into threats made between juveniles on Southampton Road.  The officers found there were no threats made.

12:53 p.m.: A resident on Vista was concerned by people taking pictures of the home.  Investigation officers found that the photographers were Realtors.

2:23 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into the theft of personal identification from a resident on Kearney.

2:29 p.m.: Officers provided traffic control so a driver on East Second Street would safely change a tire.

2:35 p.m.: The person who appeared to be trespassing on Bayshore Road was lost.

3:47 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into an attempted burglary at a residence on Johns Place.

4:51 p.m.: Police were contacted when  some children were late getting home from school.   Officers were able to locate the kids and they were fine.

6:05 p.m.: A resident on Grant Street requested extra patrols in the area.

6:15 p.m.: There was a disturbance on Primrose when a child exchange went badly.  Officers advised both parties to conduct future child exchanges at the police station.

7:06 p.m.: There was a non-injury single car accident on Lake Herman Road.

8:22 p.m.: A resident on East O Street asked police to investigate alleged threats made by the resident’s brother.  Officers talked to the brother and found him to be uncooperative.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
