12:40 a.m.: Officers searched for a prowler who may have been lurking in the vicinity of Hastings.

1:33 a.m.: A purse and wallet were found on Military East.  Police were able to successfully return the items to the rightful owner.

2:38 a.m.: There was a disturbance on West K Street caused by neighbors who weren’t seeing eye to eye.

8:41 a.m.: A residential alarm on Primrose wasn’t working correctly.

12:14 p.m.: There was a report of a small encampment in the open space behind Channing Circle.  Officers were unable to get to the encampment because of barbed wire in the area.

12:29 p.m.: Three cars on Casa Grande were vandalized.  All three had slashed tires.

1:36 p.m.: There was a traffic collision on West K Street.  At least one person suffered minor injuries.

1:40 p.m.: Police were unable to locate the people who were reportedly drinking alcohol at a park on Rose Drive.

2:14 p.m.: Police received a report of a reckless driver in a parking ot on Southampton Road.

3:24 p.m.: Officers took the time to talk to some kids who were moving a couch on West K Street.

3:26 p.m.: The kids who were on the roof of a Military West school informed officers they were trying to retrieve their ball.

4:15 p.m.: Those kids with the couch were getting perilously close to the water when officers suggested they move the couch back where they found it.  The kids agreed that was a good plan.

4:54 p.m.: There was a verbal altercation in Solano Square.

9:18 p.m.: A resident on Rose Drive agreed to turn down the volume on the television.

9:36 p.m.: Officers talked to the folks on Military East who were involved in the verbal altercation.

10:17 p.m.: The folks on Church Street who were hanging out in the yard of their house agreed to go inside when informed they were bothering the neighbors.

11:09 p.m.: Officers left a note for the owners of the dog that was barking and disturbing neighbors on Buena Vista.

11:21 p.m.: Officers came to First Street when they received reports of a noise disturbance.  They were able to talk to the loud people and convince them to be quiet.

11:29 p.m.: A 30-year-old Vallejo woman was arrested for drunk driving on First Street.

12:33 a.m.: Officers talked to a suspicious person spotted on Military East.

1:28 a.m.: A burglar alarm at a business on East Second Street malfunctioned.

1:43 a.m.: A burglar alarm at a business on Teal malfunctioned.

1:48 a.m.: A 19-year-old Benicia woman was cited for domestic violence on Buena Vista.

4:05 a.m.: Officers searched the vicinity of East Industrial after getting a report of a suspicious circumstance.

7:51 a.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on East Second Street.

8:20 a.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a possible case of fraud on East L Street.

8:42 a.m.: A burglar alarm was activated on West K Street because the homeowner failed to properly deactivate the system.

8:45 a.m.: A resident on Hastings complained about the way a car was parked.  officers found that there was nothing wrong with the way the car was parked.

 12:08 p.m.: A residential burglar alarm on West Tennys malfunctioned.

12:56 p.m.: A car on Via Alta had a tire vandalized.

2:16 p.m.: A note was left for the owner f a car improperly parked on East Fifth Street.

3:25 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on Military West.

3:32 p.m.: Officers were unable to find the possible drunk driver reported on East Second Street.

3:55 p.m.: Officers talked to a pair of Southampton Road neighbors who were having difficulties with each other.

5:13 p.m.: An 18-year-old Benicia woman was arrested on West K Street for domestic violence.

5:19 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into a residential burglary on Church Street.

5:39 p.m.: Officers convinced the person playing loud music on East I street to turn down the volume.

5:43 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into a residential burglary on East N Street.

6:00 p.m.: Officers talked to a resident on Regis who was making threats against a neighbor.

6:53 p.m.: Officers helped a pair of East I Street neighbors discuss their problems with each other.

7:13 p.m.: Officers had a discussion with a family on Oxford that was having some internal issues.

8:27 p.m.: A citizen on Dartmouth wanted so advice from an officer.

8:36 p.m.: Officers did an area check on West K Street after a citizen reported tow suspicious characters checking out a property.

8:47 p.m.: Officers talked to the kids who were skateboarding on First Street.

9:06 p.m.: The dog that was reported as abandoned at the Southampton Center was actually tied up outside a store while its person was inside picking up a few things.

10:45 p.m.: Police were back on Oxford trying to relieve some family tensions.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
